Every year, under the careful eye of publisher Scott Evans, The Social Book reunites Houston’s Best in an unforgettable gala that honours people with significant contributions to the city’s development. While last year the gala could not happen due to the pandemic, this year it came back stronger than ever and took place on the 12th of December.
The Social Book gala is a chance to honour the publication’s so-called “Houston Treasures”, a carefully curated group of people chosen every year for their impact, talent, and evolution. We are proud to announce that Kelly Gale Amen, chief designer and owner of KGA Design, was one of 2022’s Treasures, and gracefully received the award Sunday evening after a delightful introduction by former Houston mayor Annise Parker.
We would like to use this occasion and thank the team at The Social Book for the honour, as well as Annise Parker for the introduction, and last but not least Iraj Ghavidel for the incredible photos which are to be included in the publication.
Kelly Amen adds: “I could not think of a more graceful way to end the year. Thank you to the Social Book for continuously recognising and honouring talent in Houston. I feel privileged to have been introduced by the town’s first LGBTQ+ mayor, as well as to have been awarded this title along so many incredible people. I look forward to 2022 and wish everyone a happy holiday season”
