The Amen Bed is a custom-made canvas upholstered art bed by renowned furniture artist Kelly Gale Amen. The bed was originally created by Amen in 1998 and donated to the Texas Children’s Hospital. Fifty-one artists, including Cancer Center patients, family and staff, helped Amen ( a cancer survivor himself ) paint the bed, creating a one-of-a-kind piece of modern functional art.
