The Academy’s 3rd Annual Summer Paint Day!
Grab your smocks everyone because Paint Day in the Park has been rescheduled for August 13, 2007 at Lee LeClear Tennis Center. Grab your checkbooks everyone because Art Day in the Galleries has been scheduled for August 16th.
Houston’s own designer extraordinaire Kelly Gale Amen provides giant canvases which will be made into artistic pieces by dipping tennis balls in paint and then throwing them at the canvases. Absolute fun for the tennis kids, tennis adults and supporters.
Kelly will use the canvas to create furniture which will be sold at the Zina Garrison Gala in November. Kelly is continuing this favorite event and providing the material to teach art in a fun and interactive way. Last year’s art is currently on display at Inversion Coffee in Montrose.
This Year Gallery M2 and Bering & James will also join in the fun by inviting 12 artists from each gallery to take a 2’x2’ strip of paint covered canvas and create. The artists are given carte blanche to create anything they want with their strip of canvas. On Thursday August 16th from 6pm – 10pm there will be a two Gallery opening featuring the art. Forty Percent (40%) of the Proceeds from the two Gallery Art Fest benefits the Zina Garrison Tennis Academy.
This is a celebration of children, art, and the fun of getting together to create art while helping others.
